Financial rewards: Get paid for performance

Our pay for performance compensation philosophy is anchored in the belief that you should get rewarded for your great individual contributions and at the same time, share in the company’s success.

Specifically, this includes:

  • We reward performance at an individual and team level. This means that all employees have the opportunity to receive additional bonuses.
  • Long-term incentive program, giving you an ownership stake in our company (eligibility varies based on position)
  • An annual allowance to be used for items most meaningful to you, such as a fitness club membership, offsetting daycare costs or transportation
  • Financial education, tools and support to help employees plan for their future, as well as post-retirement benefits.
  • Company-paid Defined Contribution Pension Plan (Canada) and a Money Purchase Plan (U.S.) where the company contribution is eight percent of base salary. Employees can further save for their retirement by contributing to an investment plan (Canada) or a 401(k) plan (U.S.) where we will match up to five percent of the employee’s contribution.

Salary

A base salary that is reviewed annually.

Bonus & incentive programs

An annual discretionary bonus program that considers company results and individual performance.

A long-term incentive program that aligns employee and shareholder interests through grants to eligible employees of restricted share units, performance share units, stock options and/or stock appreciation rights (eligibility varies based on position).

Educational assistance

We pay for relevant and approved business-related education and dues or membership fees to professional associations, with supervisory approval.

Annual allowance

An annual allowance to be used for items most meaningful to you, such as transportation, parking, fitness club memberships, financial consulting, etc.
