We’re improving how we supply our operations in Canada and the United States, including the drilling rigs like this one.
Oil and gas development requires a complex supply chain to get the job done.
Encana’s supply management services group managed more than $3 billion in goods and services in 2014 to support our operations in Canada and the United States, from hiring drilling rigs to buying steel pipe.
Aligning with Encana’s one team approach to doing business, 2014 also saw U.S. and Canadian supply chain teams merge to deliver stronger results by leveraging large supplier contracts, controlling costs, mitigating risk and applying best practices.
“Encana’s supply management experts work with the teams to deliver innovative solutions,” says Vineeta Maguire, Vice-President of Supply Management Services (SMS). “As business partners, SMS managed over $3-billion in 2014 and introduced new thinking on cost savings.”
The work done by SMS was featured in a recent article in Supply Chain World magazine.
