It’s all smiles for the Encana employees who took part in the Fight for Air Climb in Denver’s Republic Plaza.
A 15-member Encana team successfully climbed 54 flights of stairs in Denver’s Republic Plaza at the Fight for Air Climb, a fundraiser for the American Lung Association in Colorado held February 21.
Thanks to an employee program which sees the company match each dollar raised by participants the team members raised more than $4,300.
Because the event was held in Republic Plaza, the headquarters of Encana’s U.S. operations, several members of Encana’s team regularly trained by climbing the stairs in the months leading up to the event.
“It was a great day for everyone on Team Encana! Our training paid off and all 15 of us finished strong. I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m already looking forward to next year!” said Water Systems Engineer Sophia Hotltsnider, who served as Encana’s team captain.
The annual event is a major fundraiser for the American Lung Association in Colorado and Encana has been a lead sponsor for several years. The funds raised support research, education and patient programs to help those impacted by asthma, COPD, lung cancer, air pollution and other lung diseases.
