Calgary is our hometown. We've been headquartered here (through predecessor companies) since the 1900s. The majority of our 1,500 staff in Calgary work in THE BOW, the first office building of its kind in North America. Its signature design by the internationally renowned architectural firm, Foster + Partners, firmly situates Encana and Calgary at the forefront of the global business arena that defines 21st century commerce.
Most of our major Canadian projects are managed and supported from this location, as is engineering, accounting, legal, human resources, media, community relations and other corporate functions.
Visitors to THE BOW are greeted by Wonderland a sculpture by one of the world’s foremost sculptors Jaume Plensa.
Our Community Investment program strives to promote environmental stewardship, enhance the skill sets of the next generation of industry workers and support the needs of communities where we live and operate through our three funding pillars: environment, education and community life.
In Calgary, Encana has supported initiatives such as the Mayor's Environmental Expo, the science meets art energy at Beakerhead and the Race Against Hunger fundraiser for the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank.
We’re also proud to support the Calgary Fire Department, educational opportunities for local students in the oil and gas industry and community events such as the Cassie Campbell Street Hockey Festival for Ronald McDonald House in Southern Alberta.
