Listen to Encana's management team discussing the company's Q1 2013 results in a live webcast and see the quarterly results documents.
In 2006, Encana and the Province of Nova Scotia signed the Offshore Strategic Energy Agreement (OSEA) which outlines a commitment from both parties with respect to Nova Scotian opportunities for employment and training. Encana committed to the placement of Nova Scotians early in their careers in technical professions either within our Deep Panuke project office or within successful contractors' offices or facilities.
In October 2008, we posted a number of positions across Nova Scotia in newspapers, on websites, at colleges and universities, as well as with organizations which are owned or operated by members of disadvantaged groups. Over 500 applications for the positions were received.
The positions are now filled, with the final candidate joining the Deep Panuke team in mid-2009.
Stay tuned to this website and the Deep Panuke project quarterly newsletter for updates on the progress of the Developing Skills participants, where their stories will be shared as they continue to learn about the offshore gas industry.
