When does Encana recruit for student positions?

Student positions are found online from September to April; check back frequently.

Will Encana be at any on campus events this year?

Our On-campus events page lists the schools we will visit this year.

Can I apply for a summer position even if Encana isn't recruiting at my university?

Absolutely! All of our postings can be found online and are open for anyone to apply.

After I’ve applied, how long will it take to hear a response?

Our Campus Relations team responds as quickly as possible once the posting has closed. Generally you will hear from us within two weeks.

If chosen, what is the interview going to be like?

We use behavioural based interviewing questions. To find out more, check out our Tips and tricks page.

Does Encana hire co-op students?

Although we don’t hire students on co-op placements we are willing to try our best to fill your program requirements.

Does Encana offer travel assistance to student hires?

We help students cover some of the costs to move to Calgary or designated field locations from point of hire (usually school).

What if I can't start on the posted start date?

We understand every student may not be able to begin work on the expected start date. We’re open to working with you to accommodate certain situations and select a date that suits your needs.

Am I able to choose my work location?

Office students work in Calgary. Field placements are determined by the Campus Relations team. We’d be happy to consider your request but cannot guarantee it.

Do students get the first and third Friday off each month?

Yes! All students working in Calgary enjoy the first and third Friday off each month. Office students work 8.5 hours a day to earn their Fridays off. Field students work a shift schedule; each field location determines the schedule.

How many students does Encana hire each year?

We typically hire more than 200 students for our Canadian and U.S. office and field locations.

If I am a Canadian student can I work in one of your U.S. offices?

Unfortunately we don’t offer student cross-border assignments.
