Prospective Suppliers

Ovintiv suppliers and service providers (suppliers) are an important part of our operations. Suppliers contribute to our success by providing equipment, supplies and services necessary to run our operations. We value the working relationship we have with our suppliers.

ISNetworld

Supplier prequalification through ISNetworld is one of the methods we use to strengthen our overall environment, health and safety performance.

Suppliers requiring an ISNetworld subscription are referred to as “ISN required.” These suppliers are companies who deliver products or perform work at any of our field locations. Ovintiv has specific criteria for ISN required suppliers who must maintain a passing grade in ISNetworld to continue working for us.

Note: A valid Ovintiv master agreement is required prior to providing services to Ovintiv. Once an agreement is executed, your ISNetworld account will be connected. Suppliers must have a passing grade prior to the start of work and maintain a passing grade while working for Ovintiv. There is no grace period or exception to this requirement without prior written approval by Ovintiv. Entering into a master agreement, enrollment in ISN and meeting eligibility requirements do not imply a guarantee for work.

ISN required suppliers will be required to provide the following information in ISNetworld. This list is subject to change and may vary depending on your country of work.

  • Company profile
  • Management systems questionnaire
  • Review of health and safety programs
  • Quarterly health and safety statistics
  • Proof of valid commercial insurance (specified in the master agreement)
  • Proof of valid workers compensation coverage

A supplier’s ISNetworld grade is based upon the data they provide and the information collected in Ovintiv evaluations and inspections—all of which are measured against Ovintiv’s grading criteria. An ISN-PASS grade in ISNetworld is the minimum acceptable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to questions we get asked the most about when it comes to our tools and programs for suppliers.

ISN Account

Why does Ovintiv use ISNetworld?

Ovintiv has identified several advantages with using ISNetworld. This management tool has become increasingly common in the petrochemical, biopharma and manufacturing industries in North America.

My company only does a small amount of work for Ovintiv. Do I need an ISNetworld subscription?

Yes. The number of employees is not a determining factor for the need of an ISNetworld subscription. Factors used in determining a subscription include, but are not limited to, risk, the type of work to be performed and the duration of work. In some very limited circumstances, you may not need a subscription. If you are uncertain as to whether a subscription is required, please contact spm@ovintiv.com or 720.876.5422.

How do I establish my subscription?

You can initiate registration online by going to www.isnetworld.com. You also may contact ISN at 800.976.1303 to establish your company’s subscription.

Do I get any other benefits with my subscription?

A complete list of benefits can be found at www.isnetworld.com.

Why does the supplier have to pay a subscription fee and how much is the fee?

We share the cost of demonstrating safety prequalification status with our subscribed suppliers. One fee allows your company to be connected to an unlimited number of clients. The fee is nominal, and the rate sheet can be found at www.isnetworld.com

Who is going to train me on using ISNetworld?

ISN has an entire team dedicated to training and answering suppliers’ questions. ISN provides unlimited desk support at no additional cost, 24-hour online support and live customer service assistance from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. central standard time. You can reach ISN through their website at www.isnetworld.com, by email at CustomerService@isn.com or by calling ISN directly at 800.976.1303.

How quickly can I be trained on the use of ISNetworld?

ISN offers multiple webcast trainings a day. You can view available trainings in your account once payment is received. If your desired time is not available, you can contact ISN directly to discuss further options.

How long will the training and set-up take and what does it involve?

After payment is processed by ISN, you will receive login information. Using your login information, you can register for your initial training at www.isnetworld.com. Available training times are viewable online through your ISNetworld account. ISN customer service will also contact you to assist with registration. You will need telephone and internet access for this training, which typically lasts one hour.

I’m enrolled with another data firm (like PEC Premier). Will Ovintiv accept my grade with this firm in lieu of enrolling with ISNetworld?

No. Ovintiv only recognizes ISNetworld.

ISN Score

How do I contact ISN?

ISN can be contacted by phone at 800.976.1303 or by email at OvintivISNTeam@isn.com

What are Ovintiv’s ISNetworld requirements?

For information on Ovintiv’s requirements, contact ISN at 800.976.1303 or at OvintivISNTeam@isn.com

How is my company scored?

Ovintiv uses a blend of weighted criteria, including, but not limited to the management systems questionnaire, review of health and safety programs, evaluations and more. A “PASS” dashboard grade is the minimum requirement. For questions regarding your score, contact OvintivISNTeam@isn.com.

How does prequalification help improve safety at Ovintiv?

Prequalification tools support communication between owner clients/operators and suppliers, which is key to maintaining strong, respectful working relationships, injury-free worksites and business continuity. Prequalification ensures basic requirements are maintained by everyone on our sites before the work begins. Prequalification helps all of us feel confident in the integrity of our worksites. These tools are common in the oil and gas industry in North America, with hundreds of owner clients/operators and tens of thousands of supplier companies using them to manage their record-keeping needs, reduce internal administration costs and improve reporting.

Is there a cost to take Ovintiv’s General Safety Orientation and Ground Disturbance Training in the U.S.?

In the U.S., there is no cost to take orientation, as it is a service included with your ISNetworld subscription.

Can subcontractors access Ovintiv orientations?

Ovintiv orientations are only available to Ovintiv’s supplier companies who have an ISN account and are working directly for Ovintiv. Ovintiv orientations are accessible to Ovintiv suppliers who assign the orientations to their workers or sub-contractor workers through email via the ISN administrator.

USA Drug and Alcohol Programs

For U.S. drug and alcohol programs, do I have other options if I don’t want to enroll with DISA?

Ovintiv requires all service providers to use DISA as their third-party administrator to fulfill Ovintiv specific drug testing requirements, they can be reached at industrialsales@disa.com or 281-673-2530.

My U.S. drug and alcohol program is currently being audited and monitored by TPS alert for another operator. Do I still need a program audit for Ovintiv?

No, Ovintiv requires all service providers to use DISA as their third-party administrator to fulfill Ovintiv specific drug testing requirements, they can be reached at industrialsales@disa.com or 281-673-2530.

Agreements and Contracts

How do I obtain a master agreement with Ovintiv?

I haven’t worked for Ovintiv in several years; is my master agreement still valid?

Yes. Most Ovintiv agreements do not expire. However, they may need to be amended depending if your services, GST/Tax ID or work risk has changed.

I’m having trouble getting my account set up in OpenInvoice. Who do I contact?

In the U.S., contact AP-openinvoice.support@ovintiv.com.

Billing and Payments

I have a question about payment of an Ovintiv invoice. Who do I contact?

Contact customer.service@ovintiv.com.
